Matheo Fernandes (b.2001) is a Brazilian film director working across narrative-driven films, fashion and commercials. He was recently recognized as New Talent in Direction at Ciclope Latino and received a Bronze as New Director of the Year at the Shots Awards.
He began his path through anthropology, where he explored how different cultures tell their stories through food, ritual and everyday life. That background continues to shape his cinematic language, rooted in observation and human presence.
His work has been recognized at Ciclope, Cannes YDA, Clio Awards, Shots Awards, the 1.4 Awards, the FilmLight Colour Awards (EnergaCAMERIMAGE), Berlin Commercial, Berlin Fashion Film Festival and Director’s Library to name a few.
